Kateryna Gornostay was born in 1989 in Lutsk, Ukraine. She received her bachelor degree in natural sciences specializing in biology, and a master’s degree in journalism from the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy National University. She graduated from the Moscow School of Documentary Cinema and Theater under Marina Razbezhkina and Mikhail Ugarov, and after that she returned to Kyiv. She is currently involved in educational programs on documentaries, and creates documentary and fiction projects.
