Uzhhorod, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, and Chortkiv: Polish Documentary Filmmaker Piotr Pawlus Is Heading to Ukraine!

28 November 2023

In the spring of 2022, Polish filmmakers Piotr Pawlus and Tomasz Wolski visited Ukraine to document our reality during the full-scale invasion. They explored various cities and villages, including Lviv, Kyiv, Bucha, Irpin, Borodianka, and Kharkiv. The artists captured footage of everyday life and the fight against the aggressors: our soldiers at the front, people rebuilding their homes, children playing “checkpoints,” and playgrounds amidst houses hit by enemy equipment.

The film is titled In Ukraine. At the 20th Travelling Docudays UA, we’ll have the opportunity to watch it at screenings with discussions and in the DOCUSPACE online cinema (November 23 – end of December 3).

The film’s author will visit four Ukrainian cities to engage with the festival audience:
December 1: Uzhhorod
December 2: Ivano-Frankivsk
December 3: Ternopil
December 4: Chortkiv.

Admission to all events is free.

We welcome everyone to join the events and discover more about the film from its author.
