The city of incredibly resilient and strong people, who every day prove that nothing is impossible and inspire the entire country to keep on fighting: the 21st Travelling Docudays UA is coming to the heroic city of Kharkiv!
Our regional partners have prepared three intense days, in the course of which they will screen all the films from this year’s programme, conduct meetings with incredible guests and experts, and invite everyone to join an important experiment.

November 15, 5 PM
Opening of the Travelling Festival in Kharkiv with screening of The Kyiv Files by Walter Stokman and lecture “Sex, spies, and other KGB secrets” by Volodymyr Birchak, renowned historian and journalist, deputy director of the SBU Sectoral State Archive in 2014-2016, who has been defending Ukraine since the first days of Russia's full-scale invasion, and is now a member of the “Khartiya” 13th Operational Brigade of the NGU. We will discuss the archives of the Soviet secret service, learn how to start searching for documents about repressed relatives and where to look for information, hear how the archives have changed their operations after 2022, and conduct a Q&A session.

Screening of Nelson the Pig (dir. Anneke de Lind van Wijngaarden) and discussion about the ways to achieve the status of influencer in our times.

Screening of Boots on the Ground, Hands in the Soil (dir. Karolina Uskakovych) and meeting with a psychologist from the Kharkiv Human Rights group, who will talk about practical methods of self-support and support for others in stressful situations.

Training on helping people with disabilities with journalist Volodymyr Noskov. We will discuss how to properly offer and provide help.

Second screening of the documentary The Kyiv Files by Walter Stokman and discussion with historian and dissident Ihor Chernichenko. We will talk about the facts that were not included in the film, discuss the process of declassification of archives, learn whether access to archival documents was possible in the past, and much more. November 17, 11.30 AMScreening of the film Kiosk by Daniel Stopa and discussion about domestic violence and the legal aspect of this issue with Tamila Bespala, lawyer of the Kharkiv Human Rights Group.

Screening of Caught in the Net (dirs. Barbora Chalupová, Vit Klusák) within the framework of the informational campaign “Sexual abuse on the Internet: how to protect children,” followed by a discussion with Olha Sheremet, coordinator of the Center for Safe Internet in Ukraine.
November 17, 5.30 PM
Screenings of the film Girl Away From Home (dirs. Simon Lereng Wilmont, Alisa Kovalenko): first time with an audio description, when the visual part of the film can only be perceived through sound, and the second time with the video demonstration. After the screening, we will discuss inclusivity, particularly in the cultural sphere, with journalist Volodymyr Noskov.
