The 21st Travelling Docudays UA in Prykarpattya: digest of events

The 21st Travelling Docudays UA reaches more and more regions: after the Kirovohrad Region, it opens in Prykarpattya! The Festival opens on November 6 in Ivano-Frankivsk, and from there, it will travel to Tlumach, Tatariv, and Tysmenytsya. Here is the digest of public screenings: 

 

November 6, 6 PM

Ivano-Frankivsk. Quiet opening in Prykarpattya. Screenings of two short films: Nelson the Pig (dir. Anneke de Lind van Wijngaarden) and Boots on the Ground, Hands in the Soil (dir. Karolina Uskakovych).

The event will be held in partnership with the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Society of the Ukrainian Society of the Deaf, and a sign language interpreter will be available. Therefore, the audience without hearing impairments will be given earplugs and offered to immerse themselves in the films using only descriptive subtitles.

The screening will be followed by a discussion with the experts: we will talk about the films and inclusivity. 

 

November 8, 1 PM

Dolyna. Screening of the film Boots on the Ground, Hands in the Soil (dir. Karolina Uskakovych), followed by a therapeutic tea party, during which we will discuss family cooking traditions, recipes for homemade canning, and the things that support each of us these days.The event will take place in a museum opened by a woman who was forced to leave the occupied Luhansk region.

 

November 14, 2 PM

Tlumach. Screening of the film Girl Away From Home (dirs. Simon Lereng Wilmont, Alisa Kovalenko) at the premises of a space for schoolchildren and a brief lecture by a representative of the District Children Protection Service dedicated to children’s rights and their protection. There will also be a themed exhibition.

 

November 15, 3 PM

Ivano-Frankivsk. Screening of The Kyiv Files by Walter Stokman for psychology and journalism students. We will discuss documentation of war crimes and mental recovery of those illegally imprisoned or captivated.

 

November 18, 10.30 AM

Ivano-Frankivsk. Screening of the film Kiosk by Daniel Stopa for psychology students, followed by a discussion of domestic violence issues.

 

November 18, 2 PM

Ivano-Frankivsk. Screening of the film Caught in the Net (dirs. Barbora Chalupová, Vit Klusák) for social workers and parents of children of school age, followed by an expert seminar: a representative of the Cyber Police will tell about countering sexual abuse on the Internet and the ways to protect children from threat, and a psychologist will discuss the ways to support your children and notice the problem on time.
