The 21st Travelling Docudays UA in Kryvyi Rih: digest of events

08 November 2024

We are happy that our collection of the best documentary films about human rights from all over the world reaches even the regions that are close to the frontline: on November 9, the 21st Travelling Docudays UA is heading to the Dnipropetrovsk region, namely, to the city to Kryvyi Rih, where it will spend several intense festival days. We are also preparing events in other cities of the region, particularly for internally displaced persons and military personnel on leave, as well as penitentiary institutions. However, information about those events remains non-public.

This is our itinerary for Kryvyi Rih:

November 9, 4 PM

Opening of the Travelling Festival. Screenings and discussions of three documentaries in a row: Nelson the Pig (dir. Anneke de Lind van Wijngaarden), Boots on the Ground, Hands in the Soil (dir. Karolina Uskakovych), and Caught in the Net (dirs. Barbora Chalupová, Vit Klusák). The latter film accompanies the informational campaign “Sexual abuse on the Internet: how to protect children”: after introduction into this issue through the film, we invite our viewers to a practical training that takes place in several days.

November 12, 5.30 PM

Training for parents on combating sexual abuse of children on the Internet and means of protection and support of children, conducted by Yuliya Sych, psychologist at the “Voices of Children” charity foundation.

November 16, 3 PM

Screenings and discussions of the films Girl Away From Home (dirs. Simon Lereng Wilmont, Alisa Kovalenko), Kiosk (dir. Daniel Stopa), and The Kyiv Files (dir. Walter Stokman).

Admission to all the screenings, human rights discussions, trainings, and other events is free and open to everyone. To find out more about the events and to attend them in Kryvyi Rih, please fill out a short registration form here: Travelling Docudays UA in Kryvyi Rih. We will also post the registration form in the “Events” section on the main festival page on Facebook.

Take care, and see you soon!
