22 Travelling Docudays UA in Cherkasy Region: Event Digest

We are hastily packing our suitcases to be on time to visit the Cherkasy Region as well this month! On Saturday, 25 October, we have the first festival event in the regional centre, and from there we set off with documentary film screenings and discussions to Chyhyryn, Khrystynivka, and Zolotonosha.

25 October, 1:30 p.m.

Cherkasy. Festival opening of the Travelling Docudays UA in the Cherkasy Region. When Music Is Stronger Than War: screening and discussion of the documentary film Last Song from Kabul by directors Kevin Macdonald and Ruhi Hamid.

Location: Honcharenko Partner Centre Cherkasy.


26 October, 3:00 p.m.

Chyhyryn. Not Just Body Armor: A Conversation About Trust, Dignity, and War. Screening and discussion of the documentary film Where’s My Body Armor? by Ukrainian director Daria Penkova.

Location: Khata Hub Free Space.


29 October, 6:30 p.m.

Cherkasy. A marathon of documentaries about the power of the human spirit. Screening and discussion of the films Last Song from Kabul by Kevin Macdonald and Ruhi Hamid, How I Spent My Summer Holidays? by Ukrainian director Antonio Lukich, and Inside, the Valley Sings by Irish director Nathan Fagan.

Location: WAREHOUSE #5 Art Gallery.


30 October

Khrystynivka, 11:00 a.m.My Summer During the War: Stories That Touch the Heart. Screening and discussion of the documentary film How I Spent My Summer Holidays? by Antonio Lukich.

Location: Community Space at the Culture and Leisure Centre.


Zolotonosha, 5:30 p.m. From Kabul to Portugal: The Music of Resilience. Screening and discussion of the documentary film Last Song from Kabul by Kevin Macdonald and Ruhi Hamid.

Location: ArtSpace Youth Centre.


31 October, 4:00 p.m.

Zolotonosha. On Boundaries, Trust, and Safety in the Digital World. Screening of the documentary film My Sextortion Diary by Spanish director Patricia Franquesa and discussion with psychologist Alla Prokopchuk.

Location: ArtSpace Youth Centre.
