22nd Travelling Docudays UA in Chernivtsi Region: Event Digest

We continue to nurture human rights values despite all challenges: Bukovyna is one of the regions where the Travelling Docudays UA will bring documentary films from Ukraine and around the world in the final weeks of November!


This year, our partners have planned to hold more than fifteen events here and to expand the festival’s geography, reaching not only Chernivtsi but also six other towns and villages in the region. So get ready to welcome us to your hromadas soon: here’s the programme of upcoming public events.


12 November, 10:00 a.m.

Chernivtsi. Press conference dedicated to the start of the 22nd Travelling Docudays UA in the Chernivtsi Region.

Location: Ukrainian People's House. 


19 November, 2:00 p.m.

Vyzhnytsia. The first event of the Travelling Festival in the Chernivtsi Region: screening of the documentary Last Song from Kabul by directors Kevin Macdonald and Ruhi Hamid, followed by a discussion.

Location: Vyzhnytsia Public Library.


20 November, 1:00 p.m.

Chernivtsi. Screening and discussion of the documentary Where’s My Body Armor? by Ukrainian director Daria Penkova.

Location: M. Ivasiuk Chernivtsi Regional Universal Science Library.


21 November

Chernivtsi, 2:00 p.m.Poetry of Resistance, a literary event featuring readings of poetry by warriors of the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian war and a photo exhibition With Love, in Memory.


3:00 p.m. — Screening and discussion of the documentary How I Spent My Summer Holidays? by Ukrainian director Antonio Lukich.


Location: Ruta Centre for Traditional Culture in Chernivtsi.


23 November

Chernivtsi, 12:00 p.m. — Screening of the documentary My Sweet Child by director Maarten De Schutter from the Netherlands, followed by an expert discussion. Together with Olena Tanasiichuk, president of the Public Resources and Initiatives Charity Foundation, founder and head of the Open University for Adults, and member of the working group of expert analysts of the Eastern European Network of Civil Society Institutions of the Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflicts; and Nataliia Heiman, journalist, writer, volunteer, and director of the ELEOS-Khotyn Charity Foundation, we will discuss the rehabilitation and reintegration of those released from Russian captivity.


13:30 Living Library, an interactive human rights event where participants will have the opportunity to talk with people who have extraordinary life experiences and stories.

24 November

Hertsa, 9:25 — Screening and discussion of the documentary How I Spent My Summer Holidays? by director Antonio Lukich.


10:30 — Screening and discussion of the documentary Last Song from Kabul by directors Kevin Macdonald and Ruhi Hamid.

25 November

Novoselytsia, 1:00 p.m. — Screening and discussion of the documentary How I Spent My Summer Holidays? by director Antonio Lukich.

Location: Family Hub.


Khotyn, 3:00 p.m. — Screening and discussion of the documentary Last Song from Kabul by directors Kevin Macdonald and Ruhi Hamid.

Location: Central City Library.


26 November

Storozhynets, 2:00 p.m. — Screening and discussion of the documentary How I Spent My Summer Holidays? by director Antonio Lukich.

Location: Storozhynets Public Library.


Hlyboka, 2:00 p.m. — Screening and discussion of the documentary How I Spent My Summer Holidays? by director Antonio Lukich.

Location: Hlyboka Public School Library.


27 November, 5:00 p.m.

Chernivtsi. Screening of the documentary My Sextortion Diary by Spanish director Patricia Franquesa, followed by an expert discussion with Nataliia Batrakova, activist, women’s rights advocate, and head of NGO Synergy Centre for Civic Activity, as part of the information campaign Sexual Violence on the Internet: How to Protect Children.

Location: Ukrainian People's House.
