The next stop of the Travelling is Ivano-Frankivsk

This year Travelling Docudays UA in Ivano-Frankivsk during November will offer spectators some twenty contemporary documentary films produced in Ukraine, France, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Great Britain and other countries. Besides city residents and guests will be able to participate in a number of legal and educational activities.

 

Screenings will commence in detention places – Ivano-Frankivsk pretrial detention centre and Galytska penal colony № 128. Convicted will watch the film «Locked down», which depicts everyday life of women in an Israeli prison, their relationship between themselves and the staff

 

On 11, 12, 13 November from 18.00 till 20.00 there will be screening of documentary films in the Bookstore “Є” (Nezalezhnosti str., 31, the 5th floor). Upon screening of each film there will be a discussion with experts.

 

Among the films there will be the scandal "Putin’s games", the winner of numerous competitions "Euromaidan. Rough cut" (in the picture), "Sickfuckpeople" and other.

 

Medical students will watch the film "Amosov – Centenary" depicting the life of an outstanding doctor.

 

Senior pupils will will be able to get acquainted with basic human rights by means of “video snapshot” method using documentary films on different social subjects. Others willing to find out more about human rights will be able to attend a public lecture which will take place on 20 November in HD "Prosvita".

 

"The living library" activity will aim to overcome citizens’ stereotypes and to develop tolerant attitude to one another. People will act as “books”. “Readers” will be able to learn more, “thumbing” through one or several proposed “books” – a hospice doctor, a volunteer, a woman-biker, a foster child, a former prisoner etc.

 

Travelling Festival will close with a round table “Human rights during military operations” during which it will be discussed whether human rights should be respected in a military operations zone. Human rights advocates, social activists, authorities representatives, military organs, ATO members will be invited to participate.

 

 Entrance to all Travelling Festival events is free.
