The 21st Travelling Docudays UA in Bukovyna: digest of events

27 October 2024

The Travelling Festival is gaining momentum: in the first days of November, it heads to the towns and villages of Bukovyna! We have prepared “living libraries,” public readings, and, of course, films that touch everyone’s souls.

Here is a digest of our public events for you:

November 3, 3 PM

Chernivtsi. Screening of the film Girl Away From Home (dirs. Simon Lereng Wilmont, Alisa Kovalenko) and discussion with Roksolana Zharkova, writer, literary critic, researcher of women's writing, and PhD in philology.

Presentation of Roksolana Zharkova's new book Scissors, Paper in the format of public reading. The book narrates the fate of a Ukrainian woman forced to go abroad after the full-scale invasion of Russia. The author raises the following questions: Can music and poetry fill all the pores of pain in our bodies and hearts? How can a woman balance between childhood and adulthood, cities and words, the obvious and the imaginary, her own and someone else's? Why does violence repeat itself and wars incessantly go on?

November 6, 2 PM
