22nd Travelling Docudays UA arrives to Ivano-Frankivsk Region: Events Digest
One of the unique abilities of the Travelling Festival is to be in several places at once, even dozens or hundreds of kilometres apart: together with the Kyiv region, the festival opens in Prykarpattia on 14 October!
Over two weeks of travelling across the region, we will visit Ivano-Frankivsk, Tatariv, Kalush, Otyniya, and Sadzhavka — with screenings of the best human rights documentaries from around the world and meaningful discussions on human rights. Here is a digest of open events to which we warmly invite everyone!
14 October, 5 pm
Ivano-Frankivsk. Opening of the festival in the Ivano-Frankivsk region with the screening of the documentary My Sextortion Diary by Spanish director Patricia Franquesa and a discussion with psychologist and head of the NGO Baza Psykhologii Andriana Kishchuk. The event is part of the nationwide information campaign Sexual Violence on the Internet: How to Protect Children. The discussion will focus on types of sexual violence, prevention, detection, and support.

18 October, 6 pm
Ivano-Frankivsk. Screening of the documentary Sanatorium by Irish director Gar O’Rourke, followed by a discussion with ecologist Tamara Kundelska about the causes and consequences of the gradual disappearance of Ukraine’s important water bodies.
Location: Re:space Educational Hub.
20 October,
1 pm - Otyniya village. Screening of the documentary Where’s My Body Armor? by Ukrainian director Daria Penkova, followed by a discussion in the Human Library format, where veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war will turn into “books”.
Location: Centre for the Provision of Social and Rehabilitation Services of the Otyniya Settlement Council.
6 pm - Ivano-Frankivsk. Screening of the documentary My Sweet Child by Dutch director Maarten de Schutter and a discussion with the wife of a fallen serviceman. The conversation will focus on coping with loss, preserving memory, and finding new meanings.

21 October, 4 pm
Ivano-Frankivsk. Screening and discussion of the documentary Glass — My Unfulfilled Life by Dutch director Rogier Kappers at the UTOG (Ukrainian Society of the Deaf) venue — with descriptive subtitles and a sign language interpreter. The event will be accessible to everyone.
Location: Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Organisation of UTOG.
23 October, 1:30 pm
Sadzhavka. Screening of the documentary Sanatorium by Gar O’Rourke, followed by a discussion with the film’s protagonists.
Location: Sadzhavka House of Culture.
25 October, 4 pm
Ivano-Frankivsk. Screening of the documentary A Land of Paper by French director Marion Boeh and a discussion on the migration of Ukrainian youth and the bureaucratic challenges they face.
Location: Ivano-Frankivsk Youth Centre Rukh.
27 October, 12:20 pm
Ivano-Frankivsk. Screening of the documentary Last Song from Kabul by directors Kevin Macdonald and Ruhi Hamid, followed by a discussion Citizen Journalism and the Blogosphere: New Opportunities for Participatory Processes or a Threat to Information Quality? with Ihor Maslov, representative of the National Council of Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine in Ivano-Frankivsk region, and Iryna Kopystynska, representative of the Department of Journalism at Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University.
