"This is a woman's destiny"; "All women suffer, so will you."; "You will give birth and you will forget everything" — every woman who prepares to become a mother hears these stereotypical statements.

But do we have to suffer and can we forget everything? What rights do people have during pregnancy and childbirth? What violations and discriminations do Ukrainian families face during childbirth? What issues can arise during childbirth and how to solve them? Why are human rights issues taboo during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, and why is it important to voice them?

These will be discussed during the online discussion Give Birth With Dignity! Women's Rights to Safe Childbirth, which will take place within the NGO Docudays' Nationwide Campaign Together for Safe Childbirth! and which is part of the 18th Travelling Docudays UA programme.
