How Can We Hold on to Meaning When the World around Us Is Changing?
The right to safety in the context of war and support strategies
At the human rights discussion How Do We Hold on to Meaning When the World Around Us Is Changing?, together with our experts, we will explore what the right of civilians to safety, a dignified life, and support means in times of war, as well as who is responsible for upholding these rights and how.
We will also discuss opportunities that help people cope with the consequences of war: support from communities, government institutions, and civil society, access to essential services, and maintaining social connections.
We will consider how communities can remain a place of support for those who have left, those who have stayed, and those planning to return.
Panel participants will have an opportunity to ask the experts questions and join the discussion on how to support people in different life circumstances while respecting their experiences and their right to determine their own path in life.
