Irish and Ukrainian Experiences with Decolonization

Discussion with the experts
Following a screening of the documentary “Celtic Utopia,” there will be a discussion on decolonization through the lens of Ireland’s experience, the impact of the colonial past on contemporary society, and the role of culture in shaping national identity.

We will discuss how societies reinterpret their historical legacy, assert their right to a voice, and contribute to shaping a shared future. The Irish experience will serve as a starting point for a conversation about decolonization processes in Ukraine, a critical examination of imperial narratives, and the importance of citizen participation in a democratic society.

Expert: Daryna Pidhorna, an international lawyer and translator of English and French.
